Dante appreciates the team attitude but he tells Steve the job can get very hard from time to time, and he inquires about Steve's personal qualifications should such a matter arise. He makes it clear to Steve that the fastest way to come up in the company is to go all the way down. Steve considers the offer for a moment then shows Dante that he's a perfect fit for any position Dante has in mind, which is a good thing, because now that Steve has shown his proficiency, Dante has many, many positions in store for his new assistant.
